This spring, Seattle rap experimentalists Shabazz Palaces will tour North America with Sub Pop labelmates THEESatisfaction. If you recall, the latter act’s Catherine Harris-White and Stasia Irons appeared on Shabazz Palace’s excellent 2011 record Black Up, and also released a great record of their own, awE naturalE, last year. A press release notes that both groups will collaborate throughout the tour.
Last month, Shabazz Palaces and THEESatisfaction participated in Seattle’s Frye Museum’s “Movement Magnitude” series, as part of “The Black Constellation” collective. Both artists will also feature work in an upcoming “post-hip-hop” exhibit at Brooklyn’s Museum of Contemporary African Disasporan Arts, running February 14 through May 26.
THEESatisfaction have recently launched a clothing line, Black Weirdo Apparel.
